THE ECLECTIC METHOD

You might have noticed that the name of this blog, formerly known as Spiritual Warrior Scholar, has changed. The Eclectic Method now stands in its place. Why did I change the name, and what does the word ‘eclectic’ even mean?

Well, I came across the word not too long ago. I’ll give you the dictionary.com definition I think best describes it: not following any one system, as of philosophy, medicine, etc., but selecting and using what are considered the best elements of all systems. I think that is the best possible defintion of what I do here on this site. I’m eclectic. Spiritual Warrior Scholar was cool, but Eclectic Method? Woah. That just sounds so much better.

I take the best from what I read, and I use it in my life and then I share it here. I take what I learn from the martial arts, sushi and art and use those principles to navigate this wonderful, crazy human experience. I have no one teacher or one way that I subject myself to. I keep an open mind and I learn from whichever source presents itself to me. Do I believe everything that I read or that I’m told? Of course not! What I do is take the best from everything I come across and then weave it into my life methods. That is why I decided to change the site’s name.

I’d also like to announce that I have recently passed my certification exam from the National Academy of Sports Medicine for personal training. So expect to see more health and fitness related content on the site. I decided to earn my personal trainer certification because I want health, fitness and exercise to always be a part of my life so I decided to learn from the experts,  and I think that training people would be a very rewarding experience.

I’ve a long way to go, but I’m getting somewhere. I must persevere and put in the work. Thats what its all about. This is my eclectic method, and I share it in hopes that it helps you along your own way.
